All In LISD Makes Endorsements for School Board

All in LISD is proud to announce the following endorsements in the Nov. 8 Leander ISD Board of Trustees during the November 8th, 2022 election:


Trish Bode, Place 1

Gloria Gonzales-Dholakia, Place 2

Sade Fashokun, Place 5

Francesca Romans, Place 6

Joseph Gorordo, Place 7

Elexis Grimes, Place 7


These endorsements reflect our mission as a single-issue non-partisan group of public-school students, families, and educators, who are passionate in supporting quality public education for all children, including our most gifted and vulnerable.


Each candidate running for school board was scored against a rubric of values of All In LISD Political Action Commitee. These values include:


- Supporting Leander ISD Proposition A and Proposition B

- A track record of advocating for Leander ISD and its community

- Possessing ethical values that will move the district in a positive direction


The candidates selected stand out among a field of candidates and has shown to align with the values of the All In LISD Political Action Committee.


Trish Bode, Place 1

Trish Bode has lived in Leander ISD for more than 12 years and was first elected to the school board in 2015. She currently serves as the Leander ISD President of the Board of Trustees. She has two children, one who is a graduate of the district and the other in ninth grade. Trish lists a focus on student learning, maximizing teacher and staff support, school finance, and community engagement as her priorities. She works in corporate communications observing and reporting as lawmakers work on legislation. Learn more about Trish on her website at trishforlisd.com


Gloria Gonzales-Dholakia, Ph.D., Place 2

Dr. Gloria Gonzales-Dholakia has lived in Leander ISD for nearly 21 years and was first elected to the school board in 2018. She currently serves as Vice President of the board. She has three children who all attended Leander ISD schools. Gloria lists school funding and fiscal responsibility, student learning, community engagement and staff support among her priorities. She currently is the executive director of the Jeremiah Project, where she works to help single mothers obtain a college education and prepare their children for elementary school. Sade Fashokun, Place 5

Sade Fashokun has lived in Leander ISD for more than eight years and was appointed to the school board in 2021. She has two children attending school in Leander ISD. Sade lists facilities, funding, achievement, advocacy, curriculum, communications, engagement and educators as her focus. She spent 20 years working for Microsoft Corporation and is now a small business owner. Learn more about Sade on her website at sadeforlisd.com


Francesca Romans, Place 6

Francesca Romans has lived in Leander ISD for nearly 17 years and is seeking her first term on the school board. She has two children attending school in Leander ISD. Francesca lists giving a more prominent voice to educators, equitable access for all students, and partnerships with families and the community among her priorities.

She has worked for Texas public school districts in school law defense, and currently serves as a crossing guard, as the Alternative School Support Chair for the Council of PTAs, the Communications Chair for the Leander High School PTSA, and co-facilitator for the Mental Health Subcommittee of the School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC).

Joseph Gorordo, Place 7

Joseph Gorordo has lived in Leander ISD for just over nine years and is seeking his first term on the school board. He has three children attending school in Leander ISD. Joseph is focused on the growing opioid epidemic, being responsive to the needs of all students, fine arts, and education finance. Professionally, he has dedicated his life to helping bring hope and healing to individuals who are struggling with alcohol and drug abuse. As one of the leading substance abuse and mental health experts in Texas, he has had the opportunity to speak publicly about his recovery to a wide variety of groups across the country. Elexis Grimes, Place 7

Elexis Grimes has lived in Leander ISD for more than 15 years and was first elected to the school board in 2018. She currently serves as secretary of the board. She has two children, one who is a graduate of the district and the other in ninth grade. She is focused on empowering parents, students and teachers, as well as academic excellence, a balanced approach to budgeting and debt, and community collaboration. Elexis previously taught at El Paso Community College, and serves on the LISD Long Range Facilities Committee, the School Safety and Security Committee (SS&SC), and the Legislative Committee. As parents, educators, and students, we believe public education is central to our community. Our strong school district provides an amazing educational experience and contributes to the economic development of the greater Leander area. Our children should have a school district that gives them the freedom to learn and pursue their dreams. Our students deserve an accurate, honest, and quality education, no matter their background.


We wish each candidate good luck during their campaign, and we look forward to working with them on the Leander Independent School District Board of Trustees.
